The Salisbury City Hall Entertainment Centre regularly hosts national shows, local events, festivals, lectures, concerts and exhibitions. Also, if you are a horse-racing enthusiast, be sure to time your visit to coincide with one of the meetings at the local racecourse. If requiring refreshment, Salisbury has a number of excellent restaurants and pubs to welcome the hungry or thirsty traveler. Salisbury is also an ideal base for exploring this part of the world. Wiltshire College was formed in 2000 and, following the merger with Salisbury College in January 2008, is now the main provider of further and higher education in Wiltshire. The College conducts courses from the pre-entry to the degree level, offering Higher Education, responsive Further Education and effective Business, Professional and Skills-based education. Currently over 3,300 full-time students and 6,000 part-time students are enrolled at the College. Courses are offered in the fields of administration, art and design, agriculture, beauty therapy, biology, business, catering, chemistry, childcare, computing, construction, English, engineering and motor vehicle, etc.

This renowned facility (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BARC) is based at Thruxton, and operates three principal activities - a Motor Racing School, a state-of-the-art Karting Centre, and a very demanding 4x4 facility. The School (formerly known as the Ian Taylor Motor Racing School) has a fleet of modern, exciting cars, including Ferrari 355, Ferrari 360, MG ZS Saloons, Mercedes Benz SLK, and Porsche Boxster's, as well as Martini Formula Renault single-seaters and an ex Le Mans SR2 sports racing car.
